In-Class Creativity
The very first task we were told to complete before our first class even was to come up with three questions. No context behind this, just simply three questions. Many people inquired about what the class would entail, however, I took a different route. To the left the three questions I came to class with and this helps give an insight as to the kind of thinker I was before ESP 103.

The assignment to the left is another assignment that represents an improvement in creativity during the class. We were told to bring in 5 objects and then asked to pick one and describe alternative uses for it. As you can see, the first item I only thought of 4 uses for. The second time, however, I managed to almost double that number and come up with 7 uses. This is another example of the prompt, "I used to think... Now I think" and is a very good one I believe.

The image to the left is the creative diamond, a topic that we went over in class that I have found to be very helpful and again influential the the prompt, "I used to think... Now I think". I was a believer in the notion that yes, there are plenty of ideas that are to crazy and outlandish for the problem at hand. This is simply not true, though. In coming up with one may appear at first as crazy or ridiculous answers, they may sometimes allow one to look at the problem differently. In this one may be able to find a new, ingenious solution. I would have never once thought to make a website for this portfolio, but I sat myself down and decided to brainstorm all the ideas I could. Because of this I now have this hear website that I think is one of the best possible paths I could have taken for this assignment.
